Sorry for the brief absence - there's this thing called real life and sometimes it can mess up yer second life! But all has settled down now, and I've been pretty busy these past days with a lot of new surprises in store!

Firstly, I've got a new store location! Check it out at Second Style Island!

Secondly, I've fallen in love with Ozimals bunnies. I'm raising mostly Havana Blacks with different shades & eye colours, but yesterday I met a new bunny I couldn't resist. Meet Turq, a lovely English Spot female with the newest gem eye colour, turquoise:

I won Turq at a voice auction - an exhilarating, surreal, and exciting experience I won't soon forget, nor will the people who were bidding furiously against me I'm sure (lmao). It was fiercely competitive but in the end my bulldog brit determination won out against my worthy opponents. In honour of Turq's arrival in my bunny brood, I've designed something new for the spring collection! The "must have" colour for Spring 2010, a delicate floral pattern gives this empire waisted dress a romantic twist on traditional boho-chic style. But this beautiful colour will ONLY be available at both stores for ONE WEEK, after which it will be retired, never to be seen again. So get it while you can, and tell your friends!

ANNOUNCEMENT - Photo Contest!

We are VERY excited to announce our first 2Dye4 photo competition, which will be a lot of fun and hopefully rewarding for the winners! Anyone can enter by joining our Flickr group. Our panel of impartial judges will select their favorites to win some great prizes. Read on for the submission guidelines, fire up that screen resolution, head to your favorite photography spots in SL and show us what you’ve got!

Submission Guidelines
Entries must be tagged with “2Dye4” and submitted to the 2Dye4 Couture Flickr Group for judging. Entries will be accepted from Midnight SLT Saturday, January 8th, until Midnight SLT Sunday, January 31st. Maximum of 5 entries per person. Photos will be judged on overall appearance, quality, and interpretation of theme.

Theme: Cocktails! Be as creative as you wish in your interpretation.

Content: A 2Dye4 dress must be included in the photograph. While the dress itself does not have to be the primary focus of the picture, please keep in mind that photographs which show the clothing to its best advantage (i.e. use of poses that follow the lines of the dress, textures are not distorted, etc) will be preferable to those that don’t . The object of the contest is about your artistry and creative expression demonstrating how our clothing fits into your Second Life.

Nudity: Naughty bits must be covered.

Size: The highest resolution/size possible is preferred. Any photos less than 512 X 512 will not be eligible.

Post work: Post-processing is permitted, but not required. Remember that excessive post-processing can actually detract from the overall image.

Labeling: In the photo description within the Flickr group, the following is required:
-Your full SL avatar name
-The names of any other avatars in the photograph
-The name of the photographer (if it is not yourself)
-The name of the 2Dye4 dress shown in the photo
-Name/designer of any poses or accessories (hair, jewelry, shoes etc)

Judging & Prizes
Judging will take place the week of February 1st. Winners will be announced on the 2Dye4 blog, the Flickr group, and through the in-world Subscribo group on February 7th.

The top 10 photos will be selected and displayed in 2Dye4 store locations during the month of February.

BRING A FRIEND :D

So there we were, middle of a photoshoot, when suddenly from above we were brutally attacked and visciously pillaged by a band of scurvy sky pirates.

I ran around panicking like a schoolgirl in a way that only a fashion designer can whilst my brave, calm and collected model coolly produced a pair of Glock 18s (and no, thats not a euphemism, as you are soon to find out!) from somewhere upon her person O.o.

After emptying 2 full clips in rapid succession it was blatantly obvious that Pirates are not perturbed by high velocity lead. After a split second of thought, she gathered herself together, and used the one thing that no Pirate can withstand
.......BOSOMS!

In true Pirate fashion, the were lots of Heaves and quite a few Ohhhhs during which the Pirate vessel lost control, went offworld and promptly appeared in someones inventory as a jumbled mess of returned prims.

And the moral of this story....is....

YAY FOR BOOBIES!

Weird things start happening around the holidays. The world starts to take on sort of a monochromatic tone, doesn't it? White blankets of snow ... black tie affairs ... and I've got nothing against red and green, in fact, I generally like those colours quite well. But sometimes it's necessary to break away from tradition and explore new options. Who wants to look like a Christmas bauble every day?

Thus was born my latest offering: a break from the norm, but still within the spirit of the season with its shimmery elegance and eye-catching style. I've been sitting here for hours trying to describe what I was thinking when I made this dress. It's not really like anything I've seen before. Kinda gothic, kinda retro, kinda vintage lingerie, sort of pin-up girl burlesquey Dita-Von-Teese-ish. If I had a way with words I'd probably be able to make all those adjectives into some sort of stylish blog entry that would captivate you into coming to the store and buying the dress ... but ... in this case I guess I'll have to let the gown speak for itself. An old friend rang me up the other day and asked me to make a gown for her. "Remember I'm a Southern Lady," she said, "but I like to show a lot of leg." Well, here it is - a whole lotta leg, and more.

One my biggest complaints with SL fashion on the average is a failure to appreciate the female form without going overboard into excess. Many gowns in SL tend toward one of two extremes: Gone With The Wind, or Stripper-in-Training (lol). And that's perfectly all right, after all, a woman needs enough dress choices to fit her many moods! But there seem to be fewer choices for women who want something less extreme - sensual but not slutty, elegant but with skirts that won't smother your dance partner.

Personally, I've always loved the classic James Bond girl - classy, sexy, and mysterious. Whilst thinking up this dress I daydreamed of a gorgeous woman stepping out of an Aston Martin DBS, all eyes turned toward her, the question in our hero's mind: is she an ally, or an enemy? I wanted this dress to fit just such a girl, figure-hugging yet with flowing lines to accentuate the beauty of her shape.
